Kenneth Roger Hart, 83, of West Monroe, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on September 20, 2024.
Born on October 28, 1940, Kenneth was the youngest of 11 children born to James P. and Florence G. (Massett) Hart. Kenneth was a proud member of Steamfitters Local 818, where he worked until his retirement.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his entire family. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who learned to hunt and fish with his brothers at a very young age. Ken enjoyed the outdoors, particularly fishing and hunting in the Adirondack Mountains, where he made many cherished memories with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Ken's devotion to his wife Mary, of 61 years, knew no bounds as they built a life together filled with love and laughter. Together, they raised five children, Jim (Maureen) Hart, Jeanne (Ron) Barankovich, Jackie (Gary) Harrington, Joanie Pierce, and Jennifer (Nick) Gashi, and enjoyed 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Ken is survived by his brother, Don (Barb) Hart, and sisters, Flossie (Pat) Viscosi and Barb Dillabough, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Kenneth will be remembered above all for his love of his family, hard work, and the great outdoors.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 11:00 to 2:00 pm with a service at 2:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. North Main St N. Syracuse.
