Kenneth Wayne Heid, 89, passed away peacefully at his home at Stone Creek on June 22, 2025.
Kenneth was born on August 14, 1935 in New Philadelphia to the late John and Grace Heid, and was preceded in death by his twin infant sons, Keith and Karl, and his daughter Kathy Mattison.
Kenneth married his wife Doris “Jackie” (Kohler) Heid, on July 12, 1959. He spent as much time as possible outdoors, whether he was hunting, boating, fishing, working in his garden, or shooting at the Newcomerstown Trap Club. He graduated from Stone Creek High School, served as a Lance Corporal in the US Marine Reserves and worked at Stone Creek Brick Company, Ridge Tool and Gradall before enjoying a retirement filled with his hobbies and quality time with his beloved family.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, his daughter Karen Marzec (Tim) in Indiana, his grandchildren Kyle (Betty) Marzec and Courtney (Alan) Byars in Florida, Sarah and Tyler Mattison in Ohio, and great-grandchildren Blake and Josephine Marzec and Judah Byars.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation care is to be provided by the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 1 PM in Stone Creek Cemetery at Stone Creek with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. The family will host a celebration of life at the family residence immediately following the graveside services.
