Nathan Lynn “Geezer” Gee, 78, of New Philadelphia, passed away at his home on March 1, 2026, following an apparent heart issue.
Born on July 31, 1947, in Sugarcreek, Lynn was the son of the late Harold Edwin and Martha Lois (Glidden) Gee. He was a proud graduate of New Philadelphia High School, Class of 1966.
Lynn dedicated many years of hard work to his trade, working through Local #495 and serving as a welding instructor for 28 years, where he shared his knowledge and mentored countless students. Known for his strong work ethic and steady hands, he was always willing to lend those hands to anyone in need. As a talented handyman, he generously helped friends, family, and neighbors without hesitation.
A man who truly enjoyed life, Lynn had a passion for muscle cars, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and golfing. Whether he was in the garage, on the open road, or out on the course, he found joy in the simple pleasures and in the company of those he loved.
On February 29, 1972, he married, Linda Lee (DeVore), who survives him. Together they built a life centered on love and family. Lynn cared deeply for Linda and took great pride in being a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and greatly enjoyed spending time with them.
He is survived by his children: Nathan (Shannon) Gee II of New Philadelphia; Michael (Staci) Knisely of New Philadelphia; and Michelle (John) Sturiale of Danville, California. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Nicole Knisely.
Lynn was preceded in death by his sons, Bill Knisely and Joshua Edwin Gee, who passed away as an infant; his daughter-in-law, Shelly Knisely; his brother, James (Martha) Gee; and his nephew, Christopher Gee.
He leaves behind a cherished legacy in his grandchildren: Logan (Abbey) Knisely; Samantha (fiancé Chantz Burke) Knisely; Reece Gee; Emma and Mya Gee; Lucas Householder; Mikayla Cox; Kara Sturiale; Kaylan (Noah) Duran; Javin and Cain Knisely; Hunter Rhodes; and Terry Gibson. He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Lydia and Luca; his niece, Danielle Gee; and great-nephew, Reid Leiser.
Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 5 to 7 p.m. Brian Flood will officiate Lynn’s service in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 11 a.m. with burial following in Ridgecrest Burial Park at Dover.
Memorial contributions in Lynn’s memory may be directed to Ohio’s Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
