Gene "Jolly" Gee, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on February 26, 2026, in Burleson, Texas. Born on September 6, 1940, in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, Gene was known for his hard work, love for his family, and his passion for life's simple pleasures—hunting, fishing, and the vibrant rhythms of rock and roll.
He shared a joyful 59 years of marriage with his cherished wife, Marie Gee. Together, they built a loving family that celebrated moments of happiness.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Spurgeon Gee and Flossie (Britt) Nix; his grandson Bryan Payne; his siblings, Wanda Ballou, Frank Gee, and Dean Gee.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Gee; sons, Oran Payne and his wife Lura and Steven Payne; daughter Misty Gee; his grandchildren, Shelby Gee, Brandon Payne and his wife Kristi, Tori Payne and her husband Austin, Tanner Payne and his wife Hannah, Heather Wike and her husband Tyler, Jesse Payne, and Kalee Payne; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
