Mary Jane Gee

Mary Jane Gee, 90, of Huntsville passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026. She was born on December 30, 1935, in Croton-on-Hudson, NY and was raised in Augusta, Georgia. She graduated from the Academy of Richmond County High School in Augusta and after high school continued her education at the university level.

Mary Jane returned to New York and worked as a fashion model and for United Airlines as a stewardess. While in New York, she met her first husband and had two children, William Wallace, Jr and Marc Wallace.

Mary Jane's career allowed her to live in many exciting places, including Georgia, Hawaii, and the Bay Area in California. In 1991, she met and married her second husband, Gon Gee, and moved to Huntsville, Alabama. She retired as an IRS agent in Huntsville in the early 2000s.

Once retired, Mary Jane stayed busy doing the things she loved including cooking and sewing and spoiling her dogs. She also completed rigorous training to become a Master Gardener. During the tax season, Mary Jane volunteered to assist Seniors with their tax preparation. Mary Jane was an active member of Willowbrook Baptist Church and often used her cooking skills to assist in preparing many meals for large group activities.

Born fifth in line of eight children, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Remundo Rufo and Chen Yen Jai and siblings, Lillian Timm, Noel Rufo, Paul Rufo.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Gon Gee; sons, William Wallace Jr and Marc Wallace; granddaughter, Samantha; and three great-grandchildren all of North Alabama. Mary Jane is also survived by 4 siblings, Raymond Rufo of Georgia, Anna Rufo of Oregon, Sue Tso of California, and Danny Rufo of California.

Visitation will be Friday, February 27, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. -12:00 noon at Willowbrook Baptist Church. The funeral service will immediately follow with Pastor Doug Merchant officiating. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery
