Kenneth Lloyd Henry, age 82 of Hendersonville, TN passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024. He was born June 23, 1941 in Difficult, TN to the late Melvin and Willie Mai Henry.

Kenneth had many loves in life, but first and foremost, he loved his family. It always brought a smile to his face anytime one of them walked into the room. Another love was dancing with his wife Barbara. During their retirement years, they would go dancing as many as three times a week! He and Barbara were such good dancers, that they taught numerous others, including a couple of their daughters and spouses. They were known by their friends as the real "Ken and Barbie". He also loved to "Coon Hunt". He got that from his father. When he heard the dogs barking because they had a raccoon treed, that was music to his ears. Another love was music. Most of his favorites were from the "Fifties", but also had numerous others he loved. He loved to jog, and in his prime he would jog around the Ford Glass Plant during his break. Later he started walking a lot and would walk as many as nine miles at a time. Lastly, he loved to watch the Titans and UT football games and UT basketball.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Barbara Henry; two sisters, Bessie and Ruth; four brothers, Larry, Troy, Roger, and Michael; and great-grandchild, Jersey. He is survived by his children, Irene (Rick) Eanes, Jeanie (Tim) O'Guin, Rene (Kristin) Henry, Tammy (Chris) Cole, and Robin (Kerri) Henry; sisters, Barbara (James) Denning, Carolyn (Anthony) Bishop, and Debbie (Tracy) Rife; grandchildren, Mike, Angel, Rocky, Ricky, April, Mike, Tina, Timothy, Lara, Sean, Shane, Ashley, Leah, Audrey, Mackenzie, Trinity, and Dakota; and great-grandchildren, Nick, Brandi, Jackson, Jayla, Lacy, C.J., Meela, Violet, Hailey, Mason, Bella, Yazmin, Tahj, Kailyn, and Maddox; and three great-great-grandchildren, Nylah, Nasir, and Paisley.

A celebration of Kenneth's life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2024 in the Chapel of Sumner Funeral and Cremation Lakeside. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Thank You for Your Service
Thank you for your service. You served your country well. You also served so many others This much I can tell. You served your parents faithfully And oh, so loved your mother, You were her first born son You came before four others. You served your brothers and your sisters When they were in need, They knew they could rely on you, On this they all agreed. You served your wife with love And cared for her so much. You brought to her security And a gentle touch. You served your children gallantly You were someone they looked up to You made them strive to be better And try to be more like you. You served your grandchildren in so many ways Of some they’re not aware, By being you, you improved their lives With hard work, love and care. By: R. Henry 2024
