Kenneth Joseph Hoffman, Jr.

Kenneth Joseph Hoffman, Jr., went to be with his LORD and Savior on March the third, 2024. He was the beloved son of Kenneth Joseph Hoffman and Carole Bolton Hoffman. He was the father of Kenneth J. Hoffman, III (Lissette Medina), Rebecca Elliott, and Kristina Skrocki, all of California.    
Joe, as he was known to his family, was a kind and generous man. He was a member of The First Christian Church in Marion, North Carolina. He is also survived by his sister, Lisa Hoffman of Sacramento, California; his aunts, Barbara Broadwell of Marion and Cecilia Kellam, of Jacksonville, North Carolina; his cousins, Rhonda Metcalf (Jack) of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Amy Bryant of Jacksonville, North Carolina, and William Broadwell (Angie) of Marion. His younger sister, Danica and cousin, Mollie are deceased.
He lived most of his life in California, but had returned to Marion in 2010. He was a talented mechanic, carpenter, and welder, and used those skills to help his family and friends over and over.    

Joe was a veteran of the United States Army and trained as a tank mechanic.    
Joe was an animal lover and rescued enough puppies to fill his home many times over. His mom and dad knew that if Joe found a sick dog it would become part of his family and would be cared for as long as it lived. Buddy, Hunnie, and Bo still live with us.
Joe also loved to pan for gold, first in the streams around Redding, California and later in the creeks in Western North Carolina. He also loved to fly and took flying lessons in California as well as attending Shasta Community College to be certified to repair single engine aircraft. Joe had a good sense of humor as evidenced by his Western North Carolina belt video he filmed for facebook on May 20, 2011.   
He died on Sunday with his mother, dad, Aunt Barbara, and good friend Carole Hensley at his bedside. 

There are not enough words to describe our feeling of loss. There are no plans for a service at this time.      
The family wishes to thank the medical staff at UNC Health Blue Ridge in Morganton, for their loving care of Joe and the family during his hospitalization there.
