Kenneth Allen Hofts (Age 74) passed at home on February 15, 2024, from complications of cancer.
He was born June 29, 1949 in Deshler, Nebraska to Victor and Bonnie (Williams) Hofts. He was the oldest of 5 children, who survived him; Linda (Allen) Hillgren, Barbara (Gene) Seipel, Roger (Theresa) Hofts, and Nancy (Phil) Prater, numerous Nieces and Nephews, Friends, and his dog Bella.
Ken was Baptized and Confirmed at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hebron, Nebraska, where he and Nancy (Wolford) were married June 6, 1970. They have two children, Jason and Amanda. He is also survived by his favorite daughter-in-law, Kristin and grandsons Alex, Austin, Mason, and Kellen, who will be honorary guardians of the tackle box.
Ken worked at Ell's filling station, helped his Dad and others on the farm, Union Pacific Railroad, Williams Drilling, Ken-Boy Chevrolet, and Melton Motors.
He graduated Hebron High School in 1968 and attended Fairbury Jr. College. Ken was a member of the Kansas National Guard from 1969 to 1975, a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus, Thayer County Livestock Feeders Association, and dedicated 45 years to the Hebron Volunteer Fire Department as a fireman and EMT.
Vacations with Jason, Kristin and the Wrecking Crew (Alex, Austin, Mason and Kellen) usually involving fishing and cruising on a lake were his best times, including Sundays with Amanda at the Casinos.
Book signing at Price Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 1-8pm with family greeting friends from 6-8pm.
Funeral Services are Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 10:00 am, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hebron, NE with Father Major officiating.
Following the service, the American Legion Honor Guard will present honors between the Church and Fellowship hall, with a hot lunch being served in the hall afterwards.
