Kenneth E. Holmes was born on April 5, 1947, in Phoenix, Arizona, and passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, at Clarendale Senior Living, surrounded by his adoring family. A loving father and cherished grandfather, Ken's spirit will forever echo in the hearts of those he held dear.
Ken's life was illuminated by his profound passion for music, pursued with unwavering devotion. In the summer of 1986, to forge a brighter future for himself and his daughters, Emily and Esseri, he relocated from Arizona to Tennessee. There, he poured his soul into songwriting, finding deep joy and purpose in every note.
He is survived by his daughter Emily Jones, her husband Randall "Thunder" Jones, and their daughter Mya Jones; his daughter Esseri Holmes, her fiancé Klaus Luchs, and her son London Ree; and his stepdaughter, Tiffany Kelley.
Ken is reunited in eternity with his beloved mother, Jackie Holmes; father, Gene Holmes; and brother, Randy Holmes.
We celebrate Ken—a man of boundless creativity and unwavering devotion. From his younger years as an avid outdoorsman and hunter, to his days as a high school and college athlete and devoted soccer coach, through his years teaching, singing as a cherished choir member, to crafting music and embracing his role as the ultimate soccer dad—he wove a tapestry of enduring memories. His life, rich with love and melody, inspires us all. "Watch, look, and listen, be fair be square"—words that will forever guide his family.
A visitation will be held Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 10-11 a.m., followed by a short service at 11 a.m. at Sumner Funeral and Cremation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to TN Kids Belongs in honor of Ken Holmes. https://tennesseekidsbelong.givingfuel.com/tkb
