Ray Miller Latimer, age 74, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of February 7, 2026. Born on July 15, 1951, Ray lived a life defined by hard work, resilience, and deep roots in his community.

Ray was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce; his parents, Fannie and William Latimer; his sisters, Christine and Rita; his brothers, Geroy and Willard; and his grandson, Austen.

He is survived by his sons, Troy Stafford (Jennifer), Danny Andrews, and Todd Stafford; his sisters, Rosemary, Betty, and Annie; his brother, William Thomas, Jr.; his grandchildren, Samantha, Lexi, TJ, Paige, Caleb, Taylor, Micah, Payton, Kaitlyn, Regan, and Mason; and his great-grandson, Aydan. He also leaves behind extended family, friends, and many in the Mt. Olivet community who knew and respected him.

Ray spent his entire adult life working in drywall, a trade he took great pride in. He was known as a hardworking, dependable man who believed in earning everything through dedication and perseverance. That strong work ethic was one of his greatest legacies, and his three sons proudly followed in his footsteps.

At family gatherings, Ray was known as the grill master. He stood over the grill cooking hamburgers, hotdogs, and pork to perfection, making sure everyone had something hot to eat. Those moments brought people together, and his presence at the grill will be remembered as one of the simple ways he showed care for those around him.

Ray will be deeply missed by those who knew him. He was loved by his family and was a constant presence in his community. His friendly demeanor, his stories, and the example of his steady determination will not be forgotten.
