Kenneth Jack Jordan, 84, of Longview, Texas, passed away on September 4, 2025. Born on December 29, 1940, Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Tommie and Myrtle Jordan, brothers Billy Jordan, Harold Jordan, Jimmy Jordan and Roy Jordan, sisters Joyce Ann Jordan and Tommie Shrum, son Ken Jordan Jr. and daughter Kimberly Johnston. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Lynda Jordan, sister Betty Lou Bostick, brother Raymond Jordan, his grandchildren Heath, Holli and her husband Trevor, Mackenzie, and Timothy, and great-grandchildren Aaron, Asher, Coleman, Natalie, and Nathan. Kenneth grew up in Pittsburg, TX before joining the United States Navy in 1962 where he served honorably in the Vietnamese and Taiwanese Straits as a metalsmith and lead analyst. He spoke fondly of his time at sea and never lost his love of travel during his lifetime. After being discharged from the Navy, he began a lifetime of work with Honeywell UOP where he was widely respected as one of the foremost Refinery Inspectors in the world. He continued his travels internationally with UOP, visiting Japan, the US Virgin Islands, and Germany just to name a few. He was proud of his expertise, which could be seen in the technical manuals of his time where he literally helped write the books on refineries for decades to come. Kenneth's family was his pride and joy. Whether it was reminiscing over his storied past with a beginning that probably started with "Me and this ol' boy used to…" or nourishing the future by loving on his great grandchildren, family was everything to Kenneth. Lynda, the love of his life, was never far from his side when he was home and they had the incredibly rare blessing of 63 years together filled with love, laughter, and mutual support through the joys and challenges of a life well lived. Even through the heartache of losing their children far too soon, they clung to each other to his very last day. Each day was a gift they gave to one another and a lifetime of cherished memories stands in testament to their love. The loss of Kenneth will be felt for many years to come. His surviving family will miss his hunting stories, his games of chess, lively holiday celebrations, and even his rambunctious sense of humor on his "neighborhood watch". Please join his family to celebrate his life at Rader Funeral Home Monday, September 8, 2025 from 5 pm to 7 pm. Graveside services will be at Leesburg Cemetery in Leesburg, TX September 9, 2025 at 11 am. Flowers in celebration of his life may be sent to Rader Funeral Home in Longview, TX.
