Kenny Jackson, 68, of Bogart, Georgia died on September 16, 2025. Born on April 11, 1957, Kenny was the beloved eldest son of James “Darrell” and Wera Jackson of Bogart, Georgia. He grew up surrounded by a loving family, playing sports with his brothers, Terry and Jim, and sharing a love for hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. His childhood was also deeply shaped by time spent with his grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles—fond memories that stayed with him throughout his life.
A talented high school athlete, Kenny was a proud football player for Clarke Central, where he earned recognition for his talent and determination on the field.
After graduation, Kenny went on to serve Athens-Clarke County as a firefighter for 32 years. His career was marked by dedication and commitment to the Athens-Clarke County community. He had a great sense of pride in his career, and if you spent any amount of time with him, you’d hear one of the hundreds of stories from the firehall. The brotherhood with his fellow firefighters added much joy and laughter to his life. He was also very proud that his son, Dustin, followed in his footsteps as a firefighter with Athens-Clarke County.
Among the greatest joys of his life was his marriage to Suzy. Together they shared wonderful years, including a special chapter in Sarasota, Florida, where he enjoyed the peace and tranquility of coastal living. He missed her greatly after she passed.
In addition to his wife, Suzy, Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, James “Darrell” Jackson and Wera Jackson. He left behind two children and six grandchildren, including his daughter, Ashleigh (Sean) Lennon, and grandchildren, Hayleigh, JT, Ansleigh and John Thomas of Warm Springs, Georgia and son, Dustin (Starr) Jackson, and grandchildren, Everett and Owen, of Carlton, Georgia. He also left behind two brothers, Terry (Ellen) Jackson of Bogart, Georgia, Jim (Angie) Jackson of Zebulon, Georgia.
