Kenneth W. King born September 10, 1933, passed away January 25, 2025. Cherished husband to Elaine Ruth King, and father to Kimberly J. King and Karmen E. King. Kenneth was born into a large family in Emlenton Pennsylvania and was the beloved youngest of the five children. He had to fight hard for most all things in life given a set back from osteomyelitis as a child. Regardless, he persevered and accomplished many amazing things. He was an accomplished Geophysicist for the USGS and was able to continue work beyond his retirement to work for the National Parks with his wife Elaine (who was an accomplished photographer and co-author for the numerous technical studies they completed for the Parks). Kenneth was an avid outdoors person and conveyed that love to his two daughters. Ken and Elain were Girl scout troop leaders and took many girls on incredible hikes through the Grand Canyon etc.. Ken and Elaine were able to spend over 20 years traveling across the US in their RV visiting unique areas, following bird migrations, and pursuing their hobbies of fossil, rock and marble collecting. Ken passed away in peace and will be by Elaine's side. Both Ken and Elaine's ashes are to be placed in their backpacks and buried side-by-side in the King Family burial plot in Emlenton Pennsylvania. Please email/phone questions, condolences to Karmen King, 18032 Road G, Cortez CO 81321. [email protected]; (970) 409-9591.
