Kenneth "Ken" Leonard

Kenneth M. Leonard, age 85, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday January 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth L. (Copson) Leonard until her passing in 1995.
He was born in Malden on May 17, 1940, and was the son of the late Victor B. and Helen (Benson) Leonard.
Ken was raised in Malden and graduated Malden Technical High School in 1959. He was employed at Sanders Associates, Computervision, and BTU until he retired. He enjoyed gardening, playing the harmonica, riding his treasured Harley Davidson motorcycle, and spending quality time with his family and beloved dog Abby. He was an active member of Best Fitness for over 20+ years where he met a great group of close friends. His love of travel was unlimited and his desire for adventure was always an opportunity to test his limits. He loved bringing life into the world whether it was planting flowers or hosting parties with close friends.
Kenneth is survived by his daughter Terry from Chelmsford; his son Steve and his wife Kristine and his grandsons Patrick, Ryan, and Daniel and his great granddaughter Josie from Chelmsford; and his son Ken and his wife Kerrianne and his granddaughters Amelia and Issabella from Manchester-by-the-Sea; and his late sister and husband, Elenor and Richard O'Keefe.
Memorial donations may be made in Kenneth's name to the Lowell Humane Society at lowellhumanesociety.org.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 11am – 12:30pm at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD. His funeral service will be held at 1pm at the funeral home following the visitation. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
