Kenneth Letson Obituary

Kenneth Douglas Letson passed unexpectedly and has gone to be with the Lord. He was a devoted father, loving grandfather, and a man whose quiet strength and unwavering loyalty touched the lives of all who knew him. He is survived by his son, Daniel Letson, daughter-in-law Ashley Letson, and his beloved grandsons, Ryker and Colson, who affectionately called him "Grandpapi." Though he never got the chance to meet his newest grandbaby, his love and legacy will live on in each of them.

Ken honorably served in the U.S. Army as a mechanic, a role that perfectly matched his lifelong passion for building and repairing. After completing his military service, he returned to his roots and continued working as a mechanic. It was during this time that he discovered a new passion-Over the Road Trucking-which he pursued for seven years until health issues led to his medical retirement. In the final years of his working career, Ken returned once again to the trade he knew best, working as a mechanic with unwavering skill and dedication. Throughout his life, he remained deeply committed to his craft, spending the majority of his years in the field he loved most.

For the past 13 and a half years, Ken lived with his family, where his days were filled with the things he loved most: playing his music, chatting with Truckers across the country on his CB radio, and spending cherished time with his son, and most importantly, his grandsons. He was a steady and loving presence in their lives, always there to pick them up from the bus stop, help build toys, fix anything that needed repair, and lift spirits with his humor.

Ken's faith was a guiding light in his life. He attended Christ Gospel Church, where he joyfully played his accordion at fundraiser dinners and special events, always greeting others with a warm smile and a firm handshake. His servant's heart was evident in everything he did-whether it was repairing neighbors' cars and mopeds, mowing lawns, or simply taking out the trash for someone in need, Ken was always ready to lend a helping hand. He found peace in the desert, his favorite place to be, and joy in family dinners-not just for the food, but for the laughter, the stories, and the simple pleasure of being with family.

Ken was famously set in his ways-he liked things done a certain way, and he wasn't shy about letting you know it. But when it came to his family, he always put them first, even if it meant bending his own rules. He took pride in who he was and in all he had accomplished, never wavering in his values. His life was a beautiful blend of love, loyalty, and quiet strength-with just the right dash of stubborn charm.

We will miss you more than words can express, Dad. Your legacy lives on in the hearts of those you loved and served so well.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Ken's honor at Christ Gospel Church (5121 Indian River Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23464) on Saturday, October 11th, 2025 at 2:00 PM.

Memorial contributions can be made " Here " to help support the family during this difficult time and help with unforeseen expenses.
