Kenneth Loftin

Kenneth Larry Loftin Born May 24, 1938, Died November 4, 2025

Kenneth was born in Gaston County, North Carolina to Thelma and E.B. Loftin on May 24, 1938, their first-born child. His early years were spent in North Carolina until the family moved to Charlottesville where he attended Lane High School, graduating in August of 1957. After graduation, he attended East Carolina University for one year.

He and Gay Norford, his beloved wife, were married in September of 1961, and have cared in love for each other these past 64 years. Both Kenneth and Gay have been active members of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church where he served on various committees and engaged routinely in helping wherever he was able as an active member.

Kenneth was employed in the moving industry for a few years with Norcross Van Lines and worked with his father in sales for Kitchen Craft products. In 1979 he went to work at Comdial in engineering, retiring in 2001. Kenneth was an avid fisherman. He and Gay traveled with their friends. He was extremely handy with repairs, projects around the home, and built some lovely pieces of furniture for their home. He was pleasant and friendly with everyone he met, even at the end of his life, as he was so appreciative of the care he was receiving at the University of Virginia Hospital.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gay Norford Loftin, sisters Loretta Loftin Kidd and Vanita Loftin Martin and her husband Greg Martin, Sister-in-law Mary Norford, and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on November 9, 2025 at 3 p.m. at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church, 550 Buck Mountain Road, Earlysville, VA. 22936, and will be officiated by Pastor Zac Cannon.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Chestnut Grove Baptist Church.
