Kenneth Loney Obituary

Kenneth Lee Loney was born July 25, 1932, to Theodore and Madge (McClanahan) Loney, and passed away March 9, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri.   He was 91 years, 7 months, and 15 days of age.

Kenneth had many different jobs throughout his career.  He had a sawmill at High Point, near Hartville, and he would cut rake teeth and haul them to South Dakota to sell.  He also hauled milk for Square Deal Milk Company in Cabool, Missouri, and drove for Victory Oil Company in Mountain Grove, Missouri.  Kenneth also drove a dump truck for many different major construction projects throughout the years.

Kenneth enjoyed being a mechanic and he could fix almost anything.   He learned how to work on many things throughout the years because he didn’t want to pay someone else to fix something if he thought he could do it himself.  He was definitely a “jack of all trades and master of none!”

Some of Kenneth’s hobbies included racing stock cars as a young man.   His son, Kenny Jr. taught him to fly and he earned his private pilot’s license and owned a Cessna 150 that he enjoyed flying.  Kenneth enjoyed taking a few hunting trips to Colorado throughout the years.  After retirement, he was able to take trips to both Alaska and Colorado hunting for gold.  He never came home with any gold, but he made many good memories along the way.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Madge Loney.

He is survived by his loving companion, Beverly Dugger, one son, Kenneth Loney, Jr., three grandchildren, Ben Loney, Jessica (Loney) Rauch, and Heath “Tiger” Loney, many great-grandchildren, and many friends who will miss him.

“If it ain't one thing, it’s three.”

There will be a dinner for friends and family following the service from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Hartville Lions Club.

Memorial contributions may be made to Durbin Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
