Kenneth Frederick Lutz, age 83 of Marion, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Marion General Hospital. On September 22, 1938, he was born in Celina, Ohio, to the late Eugene Frederick and Helen Lucille (Brown) Lutz, and on June 3, 2007, he married his wife Ruth (Hoffman) Caryer.
Kenneth graduated from Lima Senior High School in 1956, and he went on to work in quality control and supervisory in various locations. He was a student of the Bible and a longtime member of the Nazarene Church. He was an avid Raiders fan, and he had an impressive John Wayne collection. He also enjoyed building model planes, tanks, and ships.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Lutz; his sons Stephen F. Lutz of Columbus, Ohio, and Kenneth C. Lutz of Michigan; his brother Ronald G. Lutz of Lima, Ohio; his sisters Patricia Robison of Casper, Wyoming, and Cathy L. Craft of Troy, Ohio; his half-brother John Lutz of Erie, Pennsylvania; his half-sisters Laurie Atkinson of Lima, Ohio, and Julie Hebenthal of Oregon; his grandchildren Andrew Stephen Lutz, Timothy Brady Lutz, Charles David Lutz, and Lindsay Lutz; and his great-grandchildren Heaven Le Lutz, Grayson Lewis Lutz, Jason Michael Lutz, and Malia Grace Lutz.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Yvonne (Howard) Lutz; his son Brett A. Lutz; his parents Eugene and Helen Lutz; and his stepmother Mary Louise Frail Lutz.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Boyd Funeral Home. Services will take place on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 11 am at the Marion First Church of the Nazarene, 233 W. Church St., Marion, Ohio. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marion First Church of the Nazarene.
