It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth Frank Mackey, age 86, of Brad, Texas, who departed this life on Saturday, October 4, 2025, in Mineral Wells. Kenneth was a beloved member of his community, known for his strong spirit and dedication to his family.
Born on September 19, 1939, in Lone Camp, Texas, Kenneth was the cherished son of Robert Tutter Mackey and Hazel Marie Sawyer Mackey. His life was marked by service, as he answered the call of duty and proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Kenneth's steadfast nature and work ethic were exemplified through his ownership and operation of a cedar fence post business, where he forged lasting relationships with customers and colleagues alike.
Kenneth's life was enriched by his marriage to Bonnie Fay, who preceded him in death on October 16, 1991. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Elmer, Bob, Tutter, Bonnie, Fran & Barbra. He leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience, remembered fondly by his sister, Leta St. John, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the Brad Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Boots Hansford and will be conducted under the guidance of Edwards Funeral Home of Strawn.
