SILVIS-Private funeral services for Kenneth D. Maess, 69, of Silvis, IL, will be held at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Maess died Friday, May 21, 2021, at St. Anthony's Continuing Care, Rock Island, IL.
Ken was born June 25, 1951, in Rock Island, IL, the son of George and Ruby L. (Gossage) Maess. He was a graduate of Rock Island High School Class of 1969. He married Linda Eckert in 1969. He later married Georgia Bourboulas in 1980.
He enjoyed helping raise his grandchildren, cooking and gardening.
Survivors include his children, Philip (Megan) Maess, Rock Island, Sheri (Chris) Cuarrann, Bettendorf, IA, John (Amy) Maess, Moline, Dean Maess, Silvis, and Christopher (Jessica) Maess, Silvis; 10 grandchildren; siblings, Paula Knight, IN, Jean (Larry) Fellman, Rock Island, George (Sandy) Maess, Rock Island, and Timothy (Brenda) Maess, Rock Island nieces and nephews; and best friends, Georgia (Scott) Photiades.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Wadie Knight.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Assumption Greek Orthodox Church.
