Marsilio
Kenneth A. "Ken"
Age 77, of Penn Hills, passed, on Monday, September 23, 2024. Beloved husband of 54 years to Regina (Ludwico) Marsilio, Father of Mark (Cristina) Marsilio, and Holly Marsilio; Grandfather of Jordan, Ava, Augustus "Gus", Nina, and Nicholas "Nicky"; Brother of Michael (Melva) Marsilio, Jill (Victor) Colonna and the late Sheila Evans; brother-in-law of Edward Ludwico; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ken found joy in golfing and actively participated in various leagues. He had a deep passion for history and was known for his love of reading. For many years, he volunteered as a coach at the YMCA, supporting his children's athletic endeavors with unwavering dedication. A self-made man, Ken worked his way through Penn State University Park where he proudly earned his Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts. He was a member of Delta Sigma Phi Epsilon (Delta Sig PSU), affectionately known as The Pink Elephant. Before graduating, Ken proposed to his wife on Mount Nittany, creating a lasting memory. Starting his career at the Union Railroad, Ken steadily climbed the ranks while pursuing a secondary degree in paralegal studies from Duquesne University. This accomplishment opened doors for him to become the Manager of Labor Relations at Transtar, Inc., a subsidiary of U.S. Steel, where he eventually retired. Ken devoted his life to his family and career, instilling in them the timeless values of commitment, hard work, and dedication. He will be remembered as a pillar of strength and a devoted family man whose presence will be deeply missed. In honoring his wishes, there are no services scheduled at this time though the family may host a memorial at a later date. Professional Services entrusted to Soxman Funeral Homes, Ltd.
