Kenneth Joseph Mayeux, born September 24, 1961, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. Kenneth was a kind and gentle soul whose warmth and generosity touched all who knew him.

A lifelong resident of Mansura, Kenneth devoted 30 years of his life to Paragon Casino Resort, where his dedication and strong work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of his co-workers. Rarely missing a day of work, Kenneth took great pride in his job and built many lasting friendships throughout his career. He was especially known for creating chalkboard cartoon advertisements for Big Daddy E’s and other restaurants at Paragon Casino Resort.

Kenneth expressed his immense artistic talent from the young age of four, beginning with drawing Warner Brothers cartoon characters. His characters came to life with expressive detail, showcasing his gift for capturing personality with a pencil. Drawing brought Kenneth true joy throughout his life.

His talent earned him a weekly comic column in the Avoyelles Parish Journal throughout 1984, featuring his copyrighted Louisiana-themed cartoon character, “G.W. Gros Bec.” In June 1985, Kenneth received a correspondence letter from Warner Bros. cartoonist Chuck Jones, who recognized Kenneth’s exceptional talents after he submitted a portfolio of his Warner Bros. cartoon character replicas. Kenneth was also the artist winner of the 1998 Cochon de Lait Festival poster contest, where his winning design proudly expressed his love for his hometown of Mansura.

Kenneth was a faithful Catholic and a devoted parishioner of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Mansura, where he drew strength and peace from his faith.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie P. Mayeux, Sr., and Hazel Lemoine Mayeux; his nephew, Jay Edward Mayeux; and his brother-in-law, Clyde C. Ducote.

Kenneth is survived by his loving siblings, Eddie P. Mayeux, Jr., Donna (Larkin) Mulhearn, Thomas (Sandra) Mayeux, Catherine M. Ducote, and Monica (Mike) Huval. He is also survived by his beloved nephews, Trent (Kristal) Mayeux and Wesley Mayeux; his niece, Madeline (Taylor) Riché; two great-nephews, Alexander Mayeux and Ethan Mayeux; and one great-niece, Layla Riché.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Eddie Mayeux, Thomas Mayeux, Wesley Mayeux, Trent Mayeux, Larkin Mulhearn, and Mike Huval.

Cross bearers are Alexander Mayeux and Ethan Mayeux.

The family expresses their deepest appreciation to Heart of Hospice, especially nurses Lauren Williams and Debra Lusk, for the tremendous compassion and care they provided to Kenneth and his family during his final days.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Escude’s Funeral Home in Mansura and will resume on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, with burial to follow.
