ABBEVILLE. . .Kenneth Benjamin McBrayer, a resident of Abbeville, passed away Sunday afternoon, March 1, 2026, in a Dothan hospital. He was 75.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East with Pastor Ricky Sowell officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Abbeville "Rebuild Fund", P.O. Box 606, Abbeville, AL 36310.

Kenneth McBrayer was born in Mobile, Alabama and was raised in Dothan. He was a graduate of Dothan High School and Marion Institute and also attended the University of Alabama. Kenneth enlisted in the U. S. Army and served during the Vietnam War era. He later retired from the Army National Guard as a Paramedic.

Kenneth was formerly employed by Smith's Inc of Dothan. In earlier years, he was self-employed as a Welder and was also involved in the operation of HAMAC Corporation of Dothan, a car dealership which was owned by his father. Kenneth was a member of Old Zion Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Grady Hayden McBrayer, his mother, Nolena Evans McBrayer, his step-mother, Betty Seaborn McBrayer, and sisters, Barbara Montoya, Carla Goodman and Gene Odom.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Kathy Smith McBrayer; a son, Ken McBrayer (Heather), and a grandson, Kade Scott McBrayer, all of Abbeville; a sister, Bitsy Barkley; several nieces and nephews.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Kade McBrayer, Nicky McBrayer, J. D. Sadler, Hayden Ward, Rob McBrayer and Henry Odom.
