PONDER- Kenneth Wayne McClain, formerly of Amarillo, Texas, passed away Thursday April 7, 2022 at the age of 92.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 3 p.m. Saturday April 16, 2022; Zoom Meeting
INTERMENT: Tolbert Cemetery
Kenneth was born September 30, 1929 in Vernon, Texas to the late Samuel Claude and Letha Myrtle Leola Cheek McClain. Kenneth attended and graduated from Vernon High School, Class of 1949. Kenneth was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on November 1, 1940. He faithfully served the Sovereign Lord Jehovah for nearly 82 years. Kenneth married Dollie May Colby on February 9, 1953 and they were happily married for 69 years and raised seven children. He worked at and retired in 1991 from ASARCO Copper Refinery in Amarillo, Texas after 33 years of dedicated service. Kenneth was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be deeply missed.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents. He is also preceded in death by infant sons James Merian McClain and Michael Erwin McClain; sisters Juaquita McClain, Claudine and husband Dale Bradley, Mozelle and husband M J White.
SURVIVORS: Loving wife of 69 years, Dollie McClain; sons David McClain and wife Gloria, Mark McClain and wife Rebecca, Phillip McClain and wife Carolyn, Daniel McClain and wife Jan, Paul McClain and wife Kathy; daughters Deborah Weyer and husband Rodney, Shelah Hall; grandchildren Jennifer Schmidt and husband Jesse, Patrick McClain and wife Jahnel, Heather Lerma, Andrew McClain, Elizabeth McClain, Sarah Weyer; great grandchildren Alex Lerma, Anthony Lerma, Cooper Schmidt, Adelynne Schmidt.
