Kenneth Wayne McPherson, 84, of Barnsdall, OK passed away on February 15, 2026, in Bartlesville, OK.

Ken was born on October 16, 1941, in Barnsdall, OK to Charlie Edgar and Cora Mae (Garrett) McPherson. He attended Barnsdall Public Schools and graduated from BHS in 1960. After graduation he went on to complete 2 years at Eastern Oklahoma State college. He worked for Cities Service Gas Company and retired after 37 years. His time with the company took him and his family to many different cities and states and created many friendships.

Ken married his high school sweetheart, Elaine Javine in 1962. They raised two wonderful children together. He was known to be quite ornery, often giving those around him a hard time. In his younger years he enjoyed camping, often spending 2 weeks in Colorado each summer. He loved watching Nascar, monster trucks and taking his grandkids to the park or out for ice cream, strawberry shakes were his favorite. He could often be found sitting in the sun reading a car magazine and drinking Dr. Pepper.

He is survived by his wife Elaine McPherson; son Jay McPherson and wife Jane of Topeka, KS; a daughter Jean Sheley of Barnsdall; grandchildren: Craig and Kirsten Sheley of Owasso; Andrea and Eric Phillips of Washington, UT; Amanda McPherson, Amber McPherson both of Kansas City, MO; Amy and Travis Lawrence of Bartlesville; great grandchildren: Jensyn, Tate and Drew Sheley, James and Isla Phillips, Amari and Damoni McMurray, Haylee and Trenton Moses and Evelyn Lawrence, a brother Gene and Gwen McPherson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Robert and Wayman McPherson a sister Wilma Brakhage and infant Margie Mae McPherson.

Ken was a long-time member of the First Christian Church Barnsdall and contributions can be made to the church.
