Kenneth Oliver Obituary

Kenneth Sterling Oliver Jr.
Kenneth Sterling Oliver Jr., 80, of Milford, passed away at his home on August 7, 2025. He was born on August 27, 1944, to Kenneth Sterling Oliver and Ruth Hulderson Oliver in Des Moines, Iowa.
After graduating from North High School in Omaha, Nebraska, Ken went on to receive his bachelor's and master's degrees from Yale University. Ken taught math and computer science at Amity Regional High School for 40 years. During his time at Amity, Ken served as assistant coach for the hockey team and was the head coach for the tennis team for many years. He was part of a trip that took the hockey team to Finland and Sweden in the 1970s. Ken also tutored many students over the years, including his own nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews in calculus and algebra.
Ken was an avid fisherman at Gulf Beach for many years. He loved food and enjoyed his monthly restaurant outings with his retired teacher group. He knew all the best places for sandwiches and hot dogs. He loved trying and sharing new recipes with his family. Ken loved to grow and nurture plants and had beautiful pots of annuals each summer in addition to his many houseplants. He loved puzzles and brainteasers and completed the New York Times crossword puzzles regularly as well as the Wordle. Ken had a good sense of humor and was known for his humorous birthday cards that he signed using a sticky note so they could be reused.
Ken was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Morgan of Wilmington, Delaware. He is survived by his sister, Jean McGee (David) of The Villages, Florida; his nieces, Tracy McGee Osborne (Peter) of Fairfield, CT, Annalisa Morgan Houck of Wilmington, DE; nephews, Brett McGee (Deb) of Sutton, MA, Scott Morgan (Lisa) and Jason Morgan (Allison), both of Wilmington, DE; and his brother-in-law, Jack Morgan of South Carolina; as well as grandnieces and nephews, Jack and Lexi Osborne, Amanda and Kingston McGee, Thomas Zebley, Alexander and Brynna Morgan and Bradford and Kenna Morgan. Ken will be deeply missed by his family, friends, fellow teachers and former students.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 3:00-6:00 pm at the Cody -White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford. Memorial contributions may be made to Canine Companions. To leave online condolences, please visit our website at www.codywhitefuneralservice.com .
