Kenneth Orner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home - East Norriton on Mar. 19, 2026.
Obituary of Kenneth G. Orner

Kenneth G. Orner

At the age of 67, Kenneth G. Orner of West Norriton, PA passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

He was born in Chestnut Hill, PA on May 16, 1958, the son of the late Kenneth L. and the late Eleanor (Grady) Orner.

Ken lived in West Norriton for the last 38 years, formerly of Audubon, Ambler, and East Norriton where he was raised. He worked as a computer programmer in banking for over 40 years, and he was a conscientious, loyal, and hard worker. But his true devotions in life were to his loved ones and his faith.

Ken grew up as a member of St. Titus RC Church of East Norriton, then a member of St. Teresa of Avila RC Church of Audubon, and now a member of St. Mary's Latin Mass Church of Conshohocken, PA. He was steadfast in his faith and beliefs, and he lived by the call to serve others as he belonged to the Missionaries of Charity, volunteered with Norristown Food Pantry, served as Treasurer of Holy Name Society, and was a member of the Confraternity of St. Peter. He was always willing to help others and communities in need.

He was also fully dedicated to caring for his family. Ken was the husband of Janice (Laydon) Orner for 40 years and the father of Paul (Katherine) Orner of Arlington, VA and Meghan (Tyler) Culleton of Alexandria, VA. He instilled in his children the value of hard work, gratitude, family, and responsibility. He was supportive and giving of his time and talents, so whether he was whitewater rafting on a Boy Scout trip or coaching a basketball team in the St. Teresa of Avila gym, he was a great mentor, role model, and friend.

In addition to his wife, son, and daughter, he is survived by his five siblings whom he loved dearly: Kathleen Orner of East Norriton, PA, Patricia Orner of East Norriton, PA, Mary Ann (Steve) Sciutto of Hatfield, PA, John (Jane) Orner of Berwyn, PA, and Karen Orner (Geiser) of Harleysville, PA. He is also survived by an aunt as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Timothy Orner.

His Requiem Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Latin Mass Church, 140 West Hector Street, Conshohocken, PA.

Relatives and friends are welcome to his viewing on Monday, March 23, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 19 East Germantown Pike, East Norriton, PA.

Interment will take place in St. Anne's Cemetery, Phoenixville, PA.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to: St. Mary's Latin Mass Church, 140 West Hector Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428.
