Ken leaves behind his loving wife, Kamie Podschweit; father, Ronald Podschweit; son, Kenny Podschweit; siblings, Cindy Herren, Mark Baker, Cheryl Tracy and Ronald (Tina) Podschweit; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Ken is preceded in death by his mother, Norma Jean Podschweit and siblings, Kathleen Dunbar and Sandra Podschweit.
Ken was extremely proud of the work he did with Elite Fiber Optics and truly enjoyed the team with whom he worked. To Ken, this team were more like family than co-workers. Ken also had many interests outside of work including fishing and playing the slots at the casino. His favorite sports team was the Chicago Cubs. He loved the beaches of the Gulf Shore and he and his family enjoyed yearly trips to Destin, Florida which was his favorite beach destination. Ken also held a strong love for drag racing. He regularly attended races at Route 66 in Joliet as well as in Cordova, but the absolute best races happened with his cousins in West Frankfort, IL where they raced anything with an engine.
Ken will be truly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
Family will be receiving guests on Sunday, December 7, 2025 from 12:00pm until 4:00pm at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 South Broadway, Montgomery, IL 60538.
