Funeral Services for Kenneth Michael Poland, age 70, of Picayune, MS, who passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022, will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at 4:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home.
Arrangements are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Rev. Scott Downes, Bishop Saxton Odom, and Brother Kenny Mitchell will all support and officiate the services.
A native of Mexico, MO, he retired from the US Air Force in 1991. Mike served in Thailand during the Vietnam War. Mike was a Fuel Specialist in the Air Force. In 1996, Mike and Cindy moved to Picayune, and Mike worked as a Security Guard at NASA. He loved working on old cars, and spending time with his family. Mike loved when all of his family was visiting. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Many of those close to him are known to call him Iron Mike.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles George Poland and Lucy Lena Femmer Poland; and his sister, Jeanena Diane Poland Carter.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 38 years, Cynthia L. Knowles Poland; his children, Michelle (Tom) Chylinski, Erie, Pa; Josh (Angie) Smith, Amarillo, Tx; and Mike (Stacey) Poland, Carriere, MS. Grandchildren, Zachery (Laura) Chylinski, Salisbury, MD, Noah Chylinski, Streetsboro, OH, Marisa Smith, Harrisburg, PA, and Corynne Smith, Amarillo, TX; great granddaughter, Hadley-Rose Chylinski; brother, Gary Allen Poland; cousins, Nina Ellen (Terry) Blakley, Ron William Wells, Marty Prussner, Sam Prussner, Robert Prussner, Billy Wells, Bob Wells, Frannie Wells, and Paula Wells.
