Kenneth Neal Rearick, 73, of Rochester, MN, passed away on November 2, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Methodist Hospital.
Kenneth was born on July 12, 1952, in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, to Orman and Theora (Brice) Rearick. He graduated from Indiana High School and went on to attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Ken married the love of his life, Karen Nihart, and together they shared 42 wonderful years of marriage. He worked in the IT department at Mayo Clinic, where his diverse talents, dedication, and willingness to help others made him a valued colleague and friend. Ken was always the first to lend a hand, especially when it came to solving technology problems.
Ken had a deep love for animals, and they seemed to love him just as much. He also had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed spending his free time hunting and fishing. He will always be remembered as being a "super nerd" and for his infectious laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, and his siblings, Lewis (Sarah) Orman, Alvin James, and Elaine (Leo) Holly; as well as many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of his life may be held at a later date- details will be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the SPCA or the Mayo Clinic in Ken's honor.
