Kenneth P. Rolwes, 85, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away on October 11, 2025 at MercyOne Medical Center.
Friends and family may visit from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home with Fr. Raymond Burkle officiating. Private entombment will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque.
Ken was born on April 24, 1940, in Buena Vista, Iowa, the son of Norbert and Lucille (Schueller) Rolwes. He graduated from Holy Ghost School in Dubuque. On July 1, 1961, he married Billie J. Hanson at Holy Ghost Church, they had just celebrated 64 years of marriage together. Ken began working for Brookside Dairy, then onto Hilldale Dairy which later became Swiss Valley Farms, he retired in 2000.
He was a member of Teamsters Local 421, Catholic Order of Foresters and the Moose Lodge. He took great pride in his lawn, was a very competitive euchre player and bowler. He was also an extremely loyal Cubs fan. Ken loved being goofy with his grandkids and his great grandkids, they always called him "Silly Grandpa".
Ken is survived by his wife of 64 years, Billie; daughters, Tara (Scott) Hamel of Dubuque, Tami (Chris) Jones of Carpenterville, IL; son, Tim (Beth) Rolwes of Peosta, IA; grandchildren, Ashley (Jason) Ryle, Amanda (Mike) Shegich, Noah Rolwes; great grandchildren, Randy and McKenzee Steadman and Thomas Shegich; sisters, Carol Wehling, Kathy (Rick) Schmitt; brother, Dennis (Deb) Rolwes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norbert and Lucille Rolwes and his brother-in-law Bob Wehling.
In lieu of flowers, a Kenneth P. Rolwes memorial fund has been established.
