Kenneth Henry Ross, age 68, of Saginaw, Michigan, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Covenant HealthCare-Harrison. Surrounded by his family, Kenneth passed away peacefully. Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife and lifetime best friend, Sandra (Rivers) Ross, and devoted companion, Mary Drane. He was a cherished husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed.
Born on April 30, 1956, in Fort Deposit, Alabama, Kenneth was the second of four children born to John Henry Ross and Maggie Louise (Lawrence) Ross. Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, John Henry Ross. He is survived by his mother, Maggie Louise Ross, and his siblings Sharon Ross-Blackmon (Gerard), Michael Ross, and Pam Ross McClain (Nate).
Kenneth was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan, and a graduate of Lowndes County Training School, Class of 1974. He was a former member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. Roosevelt Austin. Kenneth was first baptized at Waianae Missionary Baptist Church in Hawaii and a second time at Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Saginaw. He loved the Lord deeply.
His career was diverse, including time served in the Air Force and work as an electrician, construction manager, professional roofer, and General Motors laborer. Kenneth also had a successful venture as a self-employed handyman (jack of all trades). He was a fun-loving person who enjoyed fishing, playing dominos, cards, basketball, and baseball.
Kenneth’s proudest achievement is his four sons, all who survive him: Kendall R. Ross (Jamaica) and Miguel Spain Ross (Marissa), Kenneth Henry Ross II, and Kijuan Ross. He leaves behind fifteen grandchildren: Willie (Bounce), MiAnnjalisa, Derrick (DJ), Tierra, Imani, Masani, Miguel II, Mariah, My’Angel, Mic’quel, Masani, Ezekiel, Pam, Autumn, and Kijuan Jr., as well as four great-grandchildren: Kaiden, Kyrin, Winter, and Masai.
He is also survived by three nephews, Michael, Ross, Jaiden, one niece Jetaime, and a host of cherished cousins.
Kenneth had a magnetic personality. His strong-willed, humorous, free-spirited, protective, loving, and loyal nature endeared him to many.
