It is with heavy heart that I share the peaceful passing of my beloved brother Kenneth Ray Rust (Ken or Kenny as many called him) on December 18, 2024. Born February 23 to Mary Christine McIver (Poland) and John Robert Rust Sr.
Kenneth was not only my brother, but my confidant. Growing up we shared countless memories of him hiding spiders in my bed, to me blaming him for messes that I made. We had adventurous times in the backyard building forts, playing with the dogs on our swing set, to traveling the world because we were Army kids. Kenneth had an infectious laugh and a heart of gold. Always lending a helping hand or sharing a story. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and unforgettable memories.
Kenneth is survived by our mom Mary Christine McIver (Poland) two nephews: Ryan Elliott and Stephon Peterson of Osage Beach, Missouri, and many cousins from around the country. He is also survived by Zachary Pickering-Rust whom he raised as his own son (that’s the love and kindness that my brother had), and six other children who knew him for years and their mother Pamella (the heart of gold he had for this family). He has many grandchildren that were the light of his world that kept him going (the unforgettable memories these little ones will have).
He was proceeded in death by his father, John Robert Rust Sr. and our little brother John Robert Rust Jr. his grandparents on the Rust and the McIver side.
A celebration of life will be held for Kenneth once we have decided as a family (his mom, Zachary and I) to where and when we will let all know. We the McIver, Elliott, Pickering, Rust families, want to thank those who donated to GoFundMe, it is greatly appreciated.
For any other donations for my brother, Kenneth Ray Rust, he would want it to go to the American foundation for AIDS research (amfor) in his name.
