Kenneth Ryan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thomas J. Pirro Jr. Funeral Home on Dec. 22, 2025.
Kenneth W. Ryan, Jr., 70, of Syracuse, New York, passed away on December 20, 2025, following a three-month battle with cancer. He was born on December 2, 1955, in Troy, New York, to the late Margaret and Kenneth W. Ryan Sr.

Ken spent his early years in Troy before his career brought him to Chicago, Illinois, where he met his late wife, Rocca Lina Ryan. Their journey together eventually led them to Syracuse, where they raised their family.

Ken graduated from Paul Smith's College, with a degree in Culinary Arts which led to a successful career as a Wendy's franchise owner. He managed several restaurants throughout the Albany, NY area and took great pride in his work and leadership.

Beyond his work, Ken was an exceptionally proud and loving father to his five girls-Melissa (Gary) Robbins, Ashley Ryan, Julia (Kevin) Cullen, Jessica Ryan (Bryan Carroll), and Grace Ryan-whom he referred to as his "A Team."

He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Grace Maragliano; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Nicholas, John, and Harper; his sisters, Joanne (Matt) Sullivan and Paula (Mike) Burke; his brother, David (Sue) Ryan; and many nieces and nephews.

Ken leaves behind a legacy of deep love and will always be remembered for his kindness, compassion, generosity, and sense of humor. His passion for golf, bocce, the Buffalo Bills, traveling, and spending time with his family will live on by those who loved him. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and remain in our hearts forever.

A private service will be held at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME.
