AUGUSTA-Kenneth James Safran, 62, passed away on February 2, 2025. He was born on October 26, 1962, a son of Joyce (Enberg) and William J. Safran, Sr.
Ken grew up in the Chicago area and graduated from Ashton High School in the class of 1981 where he participated in track and Taekwondo. Following school, Ken received his training in welding and worked for many years as a welder. In addition, Ken was a talented photographer working in both a studio and private setting.
In 2001, Ken moved to Maine and held employment as a photographer at the Walmart Studio and later at JS McCarthy Printers. In his spare time, Ken enjoyed playing guitar, also playing in bands during his younger years. Ken was very close with his brother, Bill spending every weekend together. Ken also loved his nieces and nephew dearly.
He will be remembered as a friendly and outgoing man.
He is predeceased by his parents.
Ken is survived by his brother, William Safran Jr. and his wife, Melody; and his nieces, Diana Colson, Susan Unangst, and nephew, Johnston Safran.
A memorial service is being held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Kenneth's name may be made towards cancer research. Arrangements have been entrusted to Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME 04330.
