Kenneth Paul Schmuckal, age 73 of Wellston, peacefully passed away on Monday January 2, 2023, in the comfort of his home with his wife lovingly by his side.
He was born on July 28, 1949, in Traverse City, Michigan, the son of the late Francis and Margaret (Hansen) Schmuckal Kolarik.
After graduating from Traverse City Central in 1967, Kenneth went on to proudly serve his country in the Vietnam War for the United States Army until he was honorably discharged in 1973.
On April 5, 2009, Ken married Linda Kessler in Buckley, Michigan and they shared 13 beautiful years together.
He worked for Schmuckal Concrete for 28 years, which he owned and operated along side his brothers Bob and Tom.
Kenneth enjoyed spending his time outdoors, either hunting or fishing, watching NASCAR and listening to Elvis Presley. He loved spending as much time with his kids and grandkids as he could.
He leaves behind his wife, Linda; children Paul (Candi) Schmuckal and Richard (Sarah) Schmuckal, both of Traverse City; stepson Terry (Jennifer) Hawk of Mesick; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his brothers Robert, Joseph, and Thomas Schmuckal; his stepdaughter Teresa Simmons; his grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life for Kenneth will be held on Sunday January 8, 2023, from 1:00PM until 4:00PM at Amvets Post 120, 3669 N 9 Road, Mesick, Michigan 49668. The family invites everyone to come and share memories and a time of fellowship.
