Kramer-Grau Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. - LancasterLancaster, WI - Ken Seiler passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, in his 85th year. He was born at home on April 4, 1941, in Theresa, WI to Erich and Lucille (Adelmeyer) Seiler. He graduated from Mayville High School in 1959 and the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Agriculture in 1968.
He was a loving and devoted son, brother, friend, husband, dad, uncle, and grandpa. He was at his happiest when spending time with family, especially spoiling his many grandchildren. He was physically fit, ran before it was fashionable, did gymnastics and was on the freshman football team while at UW-Madison. Later he built his own basement gym for pull ups and L-sits.
He practiced soil conservation methods especially contouring and no tilling. He watched the spring season and was always looking to plant corn as early as possible. In 2010, he planted on March 31, and the corn was tasseling by late June.
He will be most remembered for his love of visiting friends and family and telling stories which had been told countless times. He was caring and kind and always concerned about people who could not stand up for themselves.
He is survived by his wife Mary Jean (Vogel), his children Katie Wokosin (David), Ena Carson (Mike), and Eric Seiler (Jenny), grandchildren, sisters and brothers, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David, who was killed in action in Korea in July of 1963.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on April 25, 2026, at St. Clements Church in Lancaster, Fr. Mark Miller officiating, with burial and lunch to follow. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Donations can be made in his memory to Grant County Hospice or Harmony Housing Partners of Wisc.
