Cedar Rapids- Kenneth C. Shaffer was born December 17, 1967, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Raymond and Santina (Sartorio) Shaffer. He graduated from Kirkwood Community College with a degree in Restaurant Management. He was united in marriage to Traci Filben on February 21, 1997, in Quincy, IL. Kenneth was a truck driver for Forward Air trucking company. He enjoyed grilling, cooking spaghetti, fishing, gatherings with friends, ice sculpting and most of all spending time and traveling with his family. Kenneth passed away Monday, June 12, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics at the age of 55.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Traci; two sons, Raymond and Colby Shaffer; two sisters, Fran Kleineberge and Kathy Gambatesa and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and son Travis Shaffer.
A Memorial Service will be held 12:00 pm Friday, June 23, 2023 at Lake MacBride State Park at the main lodge. A general memorial fund has been established. Messages may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com. Powell Funeral Home in Wellman is caring for Kenneth and his family.
