Obituary
71, of Narragansett, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Nicole Vanasse.
Born in Queens, New York, he was a son of the late David E. and Helen B. (Solondz) Shane.
A freelance music journalist, singer and songwriter, Ken was a former writer for the Jamestown Press. He had also worked in commercial real estate before retiring.
Ken enjoyed music, reading, writing, movies, surfing, sailing, photography and travel.
Besides his wife and his dog, Rufus, he leaves his siblings, Paula Shane of Del Ray Beach, FL and Linda Manzi of Howard Beach, New York and his mother-in-law, Carolyn Vanasse of Narragansett. He was the brother of the late Mark Shane.
His services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Save Lucy Committee, 9200 Atlantic Avenue, Margate, NJ 08402-2449.
