Kenneth J. Sheedy

Kenneth J. Sheedy, age 78, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025.
Beloved husband of Martha (née Warren); loving stepfather of Laura Simon (Dezon Finch), Marsha Paul (Steve), and Anthony Simon (Lauren); cherished grandfather of Aleister Simon; devoted son of the late George and Dorothy (née Campbell) Sheedy; dear brother of Robyn Stephen (Glen) and Gregory Sheedy (Debbie, deceased); and a devoted uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
Ken was born in Sydney, Australia, where he completed his education. A passionate world traveler, he journeyed extensively to destinations including Asia, Europe, Russia, and British Columbia. He spent several years in Vancouver, where he worked as a computer programmer analyst.
A visionary entrepreneur, Ken was a founding partner and vice president of Ulysses, a pioneering computer company that automated library circulation systems in the early 1980s. Like the company's namesake from Homer'sOdyssey, Ken was intelligent, clever, loyal, and resilient.
In 1982, Ken's travels brought him to Cleveland, Ohio, to help modernize the circulation system for the Cuyahoga County Public Library. While living and working in Cleveland, Ken met his wife, Martha and Ohio became his permanent home. They married in 1985 and eventually settled in North Royalton, Ohio.
Ken was an avid golfer who played the game at a professional level. Beyond the golf course, he cherished time with family, enjoyed working in the yard, and took great pride in caring for the family's many rescue pets.

A memorial service to honor Kenneth's life will be held Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Babitt-Busch Funeral Home, 9350 Ridge Rd., North Royalton, OH 44133.
Family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at 1:00 PM.
