Kenneth Sidwell Obituary

Kenneth (Kenny) Boyd Sidwell age 86, of Franklin, TN passed away on December 25, 2022. He is preceded in death by his father Kenneth B. (Ethel) Sidwell, Sr., and mother Octavia Beaty, and sister Ada Ann Evans.
Survived by his loving wife of 67 and 1/2-years, Margaret Sidwell; son, Tommy (Suzanne) Sidwell; grandchildren, Sarah Sidwell (Mark Palmer), Christi Sidwell; sister, Linda Thompson; aunts, Sue Braswell, Mildred Beaty, nieces, nephews and loved ones.
After graduating from Caverna High School in Cave City, Kentucky, Kenny attended Tennessee Tech where he played basketball all four years. After graduating from Tennessee Tech, Kenny coached at Greenville High School, Belmont University (2 separate times) and Tennessee Tech. Subsequently, Kenny was the Dean of Students at Belmont University for 27 years. He concluded his career at Belmont University as the Athletic Director and other positions in the athletic department. During his athletic career, he was awarded many honors which included being inducted into the Kentucky High School Hall of Fame, Cave City Hall of Fame, Dawahares K.H.S.A.A. Hall of Fame, Tennessee Tech Hall of Fame and the Belmont University Hall of Fame.
Kenny was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by all of his loved ones, family and friends.
There will be visitation Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 11:30am – 1:00pm with a Celebration of Life at 1:00pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. A reception will follow at the Pavilion. (9090 Highway 100, Nashville, TN 37221)
