Kenneth W. Smith, a devoted family man, accomplished builder, and avid golfer, peacefully passed away in the house that he lovingly constructed with his family and loved ones by his side. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will forever be cherished. Born in Dayton, Ohio, Kenneth was the beloved son of the late Charles and Delores Jean Dennis (Fauber) Smith. He carried with him the values and lessons instilled by his parents throughout his life's journey. Kenneth found joy in spending countless hours on the golf course, perfecting his swing and embracing the camaraderie shared with fellow golf enthusiasts. Beyond his golfing pursuits, Kenneth found immense fulfillment in his role as a dedicated father. He leaves behind a lasting impact through his five children, Angela (Gerald) Jones-Coe, Tyler Wayne (Tracey) Smith, Carina Marie (David) Becker, Reuben Joseph (Laura) Smith, and Elliott Bradley Smith. Their lives have been shaped by his unwavering love, guidance, and support. Kenneth's love extended to the next generation as well. He adored his five grandchildren, Dylan Becker, Mason Becker, Gunnar Coe, Elizabeth Bowen and Sommer Schoch, and delighted in witnessing their growth and milestones. His legacy will live on through the love he shared with them. Together, they provided each other comfort and unwavering companionship. Kenneth is also survived by his beloved sister, Kathleen Blye of Peoria, Illinois, and his brother, Robert Dale (Janet) Smith of Dayton, Ohio. They will forever hold dear the memories they shared and the bond of siblinghood that enriched their lives. Kenneth is also survived by many members of the Fauber family, who reside in the Highland County area. During his waning years, Kenneth found solace in the companionship of his loyal and friendly feline companion, Charlie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his brother Donald Smith. Kenneth's legacy will be remembered as one of resilience, dedication, and love. He leaves behind a profound impact on the lives he touched and will be fondly remembered by family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known him. As we celebrate Kenneth's life and mourn his passing, let us remember his infectious laughter, his unwavering love for his family, and his remarkable ability to build not only structures but also lasting memories. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday July 29, 2023 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Brain Foundation, online at https://www.americanbrainfoundation.org/donation, or Good Sports online at http://goodsports.org. May Kenneth W. Smith's soul find eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire and uplift us all.
