Kenneth Stack Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hahn Funeral Home on Dec. 8, 2025.
Kenneth Albin Stack, born in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Albin and Rita (Zahora) Stack, tragically passed away at the age of 59 in Notre Dame, Indiana.

Ken married Tammy (Dugdale) Stack, and together they raised three beautiful children-Zachary, Madelyn, and Conner. He loved his wife and children with a devotion so deep that they were truly the center of his world.

He earned his bachelor's degree from Illinois State University and went on to build a successful career, serving as President of ZMX Transportation. Ken was known for his strong faith, his passion for coaching youth sports, and his unwavering dedication to his family, work, and friends.

He is survived by his wife; his children; his siblings Nancy (Dan) Carlin, Joe (Amy) Stack, Albin Stack, and Diana (Jimmy) Darnell; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Ken was the cherished son-in-law of Nancy Dugdale and the late Richard Dugdale.

Ken will be remembered for his generosity, his humor, and the deep love he held for his family and friends. His family is grateful for the many prayers, visits, and acts of kindness shown during this difficult time.

Visitation will be on December 17, 2025, from 5:00PM to 7:00 PM, at Brother Rice High School, 10001 S. Pulaski Road, Chicago, IL 60655 with a Mass to celebrate Ken's life at 7:00 PM. A separate celebration of life will also be planned for a future date.

Hahn Funeral Home has been entrusted with the final arrangements and extends their deepest sympathies to the Stack family.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in Ken's name be made to Brother Rice High School, in Chicago IL.

Tammy, my heart is broken and with you, Madelyn, Conner, and Zach. Through 30 years of daycare, I was blessed to know so many dads, and Ken truly stood out as one of the very best. He was a wonderful father and such a kind, friendly, steady presence. It was always clear how deeply he loved all of you.

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I know firsthand what you are going through, and there are simply no words that can make it easier. Please know you are all being held in my thoughts and prayers, and I hope you feel surrounded by love in the days ahead.

I am so sorry to hear this news. I taught Ken when he was in 7th grade and he was one of my all-time favorite students. Responsible and a gentleman even then. I am not surprised he was an active, beloved, member of the community. Rest in peace, Ken, and condolences to the family.
