Kenneth “Ken” “Kenny” Leroy Stallman, 71, of New Canton, Virginia, passed away at

home surrounded by his loved ones, on February 16, 2025, following a yearlong

courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Ohio in 1953 to Robert and Betty Jean Stallman. Following his

graduation from Sandy Valley High School, Ken joined the US Armed Forces. During his

service in Colorado as a recovery specialist, he was injured in an accident. The injuries

sustained led to honorable discharge as a disabled veteran.

Ken was a kind, hardworking, beloved gentleman and a ‘horseman’. He loved his family,

home country living, and was a loyal friend who had a steady and calming influence on

everyone around him. He enjoyed working on cars as an expert mechanic,

motorcycling, fishing, hunting, riding and tending horses - also as a volunteer stables

officer at Fort Lee, loved his dogs, crafting horseshoe ornaments, wood chopping,

woodstove burning during winters, bonfires, woodwork, and just about anything and

everything that needed fixing with his own hands, including cooking the best ham ever!

He also provided great advice on any subject he was asked about, using his vast

practical experiences and his methodical mind.

Ken is survived by his wife Chagit Stallman, son Jonathan Stallman (Zuly) of Luray

Virginia, Daughters Elizabeth Hamilton (Lare’) of Laramie Wyoming, and Amber Jean

Stallman-Case (Ashton) of Hopewell Virginia, Stepsons: Dean Smith (Jennifer) of

Pennsylvania, and Nathan “Nate” Smith of Pennsylvania, Eleven Grandchildren: Kamry

Stallman (Reid Blackburn), Ethan Stallman, Izabella Stallman, Connor Stallman,

Brayde’ Hamilton, Ryle’ Hamilton, Hayle’ Hamilton, Bryce Stallman, Bryden Stallman,

Adalynn Stallman, Three step-grandchildren: Griffin Smith, Isla Smith, and Hudson

Smith, and one great grandson, Liam Jacob Blackburn. He has four surviving siblings,

brothers David Stallman (Linda) of Ohio, and Michael Stallman (Barbara) of Ohio,

sisters Rebecca Catazaro Morrison of Ohio, and Deborah James (Curtis) of Sutherland,

his nephews and nieces, and his beloved dog Chip.

A Military honors burial service is pending a scheduled date at the Quantico National
