Kenneth Robert Joseph Swartz at the age of 63 went home to the Lord and joined his beloved mother and sister on February 18, 2024.
Kenny was born to Elizabeth and Ronald Swartz on April 15,1960 in Camden, NJ. A lifelong resident of Blackwood, NJ, and graduate of Highland High School, Kenny was well known and loved in the community and throughout his organizations.
A performer and lover of the arts from the start, Kenny was a life member of the H.O.M.H. Possibility Players in Haddonfield, having starred and been a part of a variety of plays and productions throughout the decades. An original member of the Pace Setters, an organization founded to create social opportunities for children with special needs, Kenny was known for dancing through life. Always one to find a reason to celebrate and laugh, Kenny loved providing musical performances on and off the stage for family and friends. For over 30 years, Ken was part of the church tapestry, acting as devoted altar server at both St. Jude's and St. Charles Borromeo.
Ken's social calendar was forever full. From his love of golf and arcades to social outings with friends, to his career in the Special Olympics resulting in medals in both bowling and golf, Kenny was always on the go. With a zest for life and a talent for capturing it through his many camera lenses, his favorite times were those spent with his family.
Kenny is survived by his father Ronald Swartz, his older brother Gary Swartz, his aunt Sandra Pytlewski, his four nieces Melissa Swartz-Foster and her husband Brian, Ana Sheridan and her husband Colin, Austyn Thorne and her husband Alex, Alexa Armstrong and her husband Daniel, four great-nieces, Cecilia, Mackenzie, Aubrie, and Alana, and one great-nephew, Brandon. He was predeceased by his mother, Betty and his elder sister, Leslie.
Family and friends may visit Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 10:45 AM to 11:45 AM at Our Lady of Hope Parish / St. Jude's Church, 402 S. Black Horse Pike, Blackwood, NJ 08012, where his Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00 Noon. A private family burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Sparrow Program, P.O. Box 36, Mt. Ephraim, NJ 08059 or to the H.O.M.H. Possibility Players, 16 MacDermott Place, Brigantine in Kenny's name. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.earlefuneralhome.com
