Kenneth Charles Tilot, 88, of Green Bay, passed away on Friday evening, January 24, 2025 surrounded by his family.
Ken was born September 24, 1936 in Luxemburg, Wisconsin, son of the late William and Mary (Kollross) Tilot. He graduated from Luxemburg High School in 1956. Ken proudly served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1958. While in the Navy, he was stationed on aircraft carriers operating in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans and the Mediterranean Sea, which gave him an opportunity to see many different parts of the world.
On November 26, 1959 he married Shirley Strebel, at Holy Cross church in Bay Settlement, Wisconsin. Shirley was at his side for 65 years. Together they raised five children.
Ken worked as a machinist at Paper Converting Machine Company for 39 years. During most of that time, he also owned and operated a dairy farm. Doing both was hard work, but Ken took pride in providing for his family and he truly enjoyed farming. He retired from farming in 1993 and from Paper Converting in 1999.
Ken had a life-long love of learning and he was a jack of many trades. He helped build the family home on the farm and he helped several of his children to build/remodel their homes, passing along skills to his sons. Even late in life Ken took satisfaction in fixing things himself. In addition to learning Ken enjoyed golf, shooting skeet and time with family.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Shirley. Daughter Doreen (Phil) Zehren, and their family Ashley (Greg) Anthon and their children Harper and Amelia; Leo P. Zehren; daughter Linda Kreft and her family; Heather (Nate) Pohle and their children Zander and Maddox; Adam (Amy) Kreft and their children Henry, Harvey, Harrison and Hudson; Brittany (Seth) Gieske and their children Parker and Everly; son Chris (Deanna) Tilot and their family; Aundrea; Trevor (Sarah); Holden (Loren); son Brian (Geeta) and his children; Travis (Caitlyn) and their children Maeve and Asher; Amanda (Brandon) Stradel and their son Augustus; Granddaughter Kelly (Shaun)Wall and her family David, Miranda, Michael, Pierce, Rylee; He is further survived by siblings Gerald Tilot; Arlene Phillips; Sally (Allan) Borley and sister-in-law Rita Tilot.
He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Mary Tilot; father-in-law/mother-in-law: Art and Ellen Strebel; daughter: Mary Joslin Hermans; grandchildren: Nicole Joslin and Nathan Tilot; Sister-in-law Marcella Tilot; Sister and Brother-in-law: Cy and Jackie VanLannen; brothers- in-law; Milton Greatens and Ray Phillips; brother; Maurice Tilot.
Private services were held for the immediate family. Arrangements provided by Cotter Funeral Home.
