Kenneth Truscott Obituary

Kenneth Dwight Truscott

1930-2025

Kenneth Dwight Truscott was born in Mount Pleasant, Utah on July 14, 1930. He was the second of three children born to Charles Leonard Truscott and Iva Zabriskie Truscott. Kenneth grew up working hard, helping on the family farm. He took care of their many animals and frequently shared experiences from his childhood with his family.

Kenneth attended Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, UT. After graduating high school, he attended the University of Utah for approximately 3 years. During this time, he worked as a salesperson at Auerbach's Department Store in the Men's Wear department. This is where he met his forever sweetheart, Adele Groneman. Adele was smitten at first glance! To attract his attention, she put his name on every sale in the department. This resulted in a management reprimand and several unhappy salespeople who all worked on commission. Fortunately, her plan worked. Kenneth not only noticed her but also asked her out on a date. They dated for approximately 3 years before he proposed. Kenneth and Adele were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple March 26, 1954.

Kenneth enlisted in the Army National Guard just prior to his marriage to Adele. He excelled in all aspects of his assigned tasks and eventually was promoted to the highest rank possible for his department, as Chief Warrant Officer 4 and oversaw all of the Data Processing for the military in the state of Utah. Kenneth retired from the Army National Guard in 1993 after 41 years of dedicated service.

Kenneth and Adele were blessed with three children Kathryn Hosek (Jeff), Christina Olson (Mike) and Marcus Truscott (Christy). They have also been blessed with thirteen grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.

Kenneth not only excelled in the military but also excelled in every aspect of his life. He was a skilled craftsman and woodworker. He was a very hard worker throughout his life and instilled this value in his children. Kenneth was fiercely protective of his family and was known for always imparting wisdom and direction to his children and grandchildren.

Kenneth was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He faithfully served in many church callings.

Kenneth is an amazing man and will be terribly missed by his family and all who knew him. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, brothers (Claire and Clark), granddaughter Brooke Varner and great granddaughter Lauren Varner.

The family would like to thank the staff at Beacon Crest Senior Living for the excellent care they have given Kenneth.
