The Obituary
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Wayne Wicker, Sr. Kenneth fell asleep in death on August 2, 2024, at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, NC.
Kenneth (Big G) was born to late Roy Albert Wicker, Sr. and late Hazel Dowdy on October 28, 1950, in Goldston N.C.
He spent most of his life in the Goldston/Sanford area. Kenneth graduated in 1968 from J.S. Waters High School. He was a smart and hard-working man. He was a performance supervisor for twenty-five years at GKN. He and his wife later started their own business, K&M trucking, until his health began to fail in 2008.
He enjoyed people and making them laugh. Kenny never met a stranger and was always able to interact with everyone. His vinegar and cucumbers would knock you off your feet along with his other homemade remedies.
Kenneth was preceded in death by parents, Roy and Hazel Wicker; one son, Desmond Wicker; one brother, Roy Albert Wicker Jr; one granddaughter, Jasmine Wicker; and one grandson, Tyrese Wicker.
He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved and devoted wife, Rose Mary Wicker; children Kenneth Wayne Wicker Jr, (Tisha) of Kernersville, NC, Timothy Maurice Wicker (Janice) of Sanford, NC, Gidget Wicker-Pulley (Randy) of Sanford, NC, Regina Brice of Sanford, NC, Shermika Brice of Sanford, NC, and Melissa "Sally" Brice of Sanford, NC; grandchildren, Terrell, Kilia, Timothy, Desmond, Tiger, Kennady, Giana, Spencer, Aeriona, Gabby, and Shalea; great-grandchildren, Major and Maliyah; siblings, Anthony Wicker of Sanford, NC, Myra Wicker of Sanford, NC, and Evelyn Brandon of Mississippi; one aunt, Eleanor Jean Dowdy; one godson, Jalen Murchison; special nephews, Marcus and Mutsy Wicker; and a host of relatives and friends.
"Death leaves a heartache so hard to heal, but love leaves a memory no-one can steal. Never say the words "they're gone". THEY'LL COME BACK".
"Family and friends will be received at 301 Hunter Ridge Rd., Sanford, NC, 27332 from 12noon - 6pm daily"
