Kenneth J. Williams

AUGUSTA- Kenneth John Williams, Jr., 64, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice House in Auburn, after lengthy illness.
He was born in Augusta on May 19, 1959, the son of the late Kenneth John Williams Sr. and Shirley (Bailey) Williams.
Ken attended Cony High before moving to, and graduating from, Maranacook Community High School.
Ken later graduated from Vermont Tech and was employed for the next 20 years or so as a Material Engineer in road construction, only to retire early in life because of compounded health issues.
He married Eleanor Bridges in Manchester on June 6, 1987.
Ken loved the outdoors and all it had to offer. He enjoyed hiking and rock climbing in his youth and continued to take advantage of camping and many other outdoor activities that Maine had to offer, especially in or around it's lakes, ponds and streams. Later in life he enjoyed motorcycles and models.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Ellie, of Augusta; his son, Kenneth George Williams, of Portland; his brother, Donald Whitley & his wife, Cindy, of Brighton, CO; his two sisters, Sandra Brooks & her husband, Larry, of Loveland, CO and Cheri Chidio of Augusta; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Ken's family plans to celebrate his life in a private gathering at a later date.
