Richard Hunnewell

Calais, Maine - Richard H. Hunnewell, 82, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, of natural causes at Togus Springs in Augusta, Maine. Born December 31, 1942, in Calais, Richard spent most of his life in Augusta, where he built a career, raised a family, and made lasting friendships.
Richard proudly began his career serving in the U.S. Army in Germany. Following his military service, he worked for Central Maine Power, where he dedicated many years before retiring. Never one to stay idle for long, he later continued working with F.W. Webb, where he enjoyed the camaraderie of his colleagues and customers alike.
Richard was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sharon H. Hunnewell. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Goss and her partner Daniel Pendleton of Washington, and his two grandchildren, Alanna and Joshua Goss. He is also survived by his son, Eric Hunnewell, and his wife, Darlene, of Richmond, and their three sons, Lucas, Logan, and Rowan Hunnewell.
Those who knew Richard will remember him for his warm heart, easy laugh, and love of simple pleasures. He enjoyed long walks with his loyal dog, Willie, playing cards with friends and family, listening to oldies music, and spending time with those he loved most.
Richard's family would like to thank the staff at Togus Springs for their care and kindness.

Richard will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love and light he brought into the lives of all who knew him.
